  • Stainless steel screws for Trex build

I have been all over the internet looking for a stainless steel screw set for my trex 600 le, i figured i would do most of the screws stainless while i build it the first time, minus the head screws as im not sure if the stainless has as much strength as its generally alot softer than steel.
Everywhere seems to be out of stock for these Rcscrewz kits, any ideas

    Many Thanks
    Liam

stainless steel has indeed a lower tensile strength than ordinary steel.
I find it hard to believe that rusting screws become a problem :-)
AFAIK, the only reason to use stainless is cosmetic, ordinary steel is better from a technical point-of-view.

I think you might be in luck with this company Align-Trex.co.uk
I have just ordered some for the Trex 450 which i have bought. Very new to this sport but thought it would be a good purchase.

A very helpful company and would reccomend them.

I would be wary of the RCScrewz kit they are not made from a high quality of stainless steel, more like stainless monkey metal.
I'd go to modelfixings and build up what you want from there.

I once bought a Rcscrewz kit.... total waste of money, not even the correct threads on many. IMHO best to stick with good old steel.

              >> stainless monkey metal

for Align, insist on genuine Hi-Pro Cheesium (tm)
well, the screws that came with the kit are good enough for my flying.

I use these bad boys.. on my 600 and 700 as an upgrade to the cheesy align ones.. The rest of the screws are absolutely fine.. Although on the 700 i opted for the Liron screws..

If you really want to bling up you can use these..

                    Fast Lad Performance

But is it really worth the expense when the kit screws do the job perfectly?? Its up to you..
