I think im one,i built a 550 in one evening,needed to look at the manual twice to see where the fancy RX tray goes

Am i now qaulified??



Got to say,it was a pleasure to build,much easier than the 500....the fixings are pretty good and all went together with no fuss....just need some lipos and to fit the scorpion when it arrives

Other than checking the linkage rod length's I don't need the manual either..

Will be building a 550e FBL myself pretty soon too, I heard they are a doddle to assemble.

Spec is fly bar version and will be powered by a 1100kv scorpion(thanks andy) fed with CC ice 75.I have replaced the tail grip bolts with high tensile bolts and will be using a gp750 instead of the supplied 780 in for sale £55

Ive decided to retire the 500 and was going to save and go down the 90e road,but a quick reality check and a good deal on the 550 combo saw me short cut across the park

This thing is not far off a 600 and i cant wait to fly it

Spec is fly bar version and will be powered by a 1100kv scorpion(thanks andy) fed with CC ice 75.

I am no expert here but even with the stock motor I am not sure as to whether a 75Amp ESC is going to be enough if you go for a high headspeed setup but it will be dependent on the peak current capabilities of the CC ice. The scorpion 4025-1100 is very powerful for its size and is quite capable of drawing 95 to 100Amps.

I have been told reliably (Rob Turnbull) that the latest batch of Align 550e's have an upgraded more powerful ESC than the early models.

Hopefully no repeat trouble like Rob had in Scotland last year.

Looks like i will have to use the stock esc as the CCice is playing up,its causing brown outs when pitch pumping with both rx lights flashing,one of the pitch servos drops every 3 seconds...I tried the stock esc and its fine.

Think when that melts i will try 100amps
