  • 2 second Power loss in flight...!!!

    Hi Guys..

Wandered if you experts could help me...

I've got a Voyager E, brushless, Mtroniks genesis sc, and 3s2p pack..

I could get over 12mins out of it, but rarely go over 8mins.
The batt usually takes 2200-2300mA's back into a 5A flightpower pack (balanced), so I don't think voltage drop is an issue.

Everything is fine, for 5-6 mins, then suddenly the motor looses 95% power for about 1.5-2 seconds, then gradually comes back in..!!! It doesn't happen every flight, but perhaps 1 in 3.

The other channels appear to be fine, as I'm able to bring it down under control.
The connectors are all man enuf and in good order.. ?!?!

I only fly gentle circuits and HAVEN'T learnt auto's yet.. !! It's happened about 8-10 times now, and i've been fortunate enuf to have the height to not hit the deck, especially as it has a nice Bell230 fuzz...

Any advice would be gratefully recieved.

    Luv
    Chrisie...

possibly the speed controller over-heating? maybe try moving it to somewhere with better air-flow if at all possible. id also get some auto practice in on the sim if you have one it saved my bacon the first few times i had an engine cut on me...

      Cheers Jamie..

With a bit of re-wiring, there is plenty of space in the cockpit, so i'll give that a go...

I've actually caught it on camera, as I had that strapped to the heli at the time, and after carefully listening you can hear it faulter just before full loss of power.. !!!

      Thanks

Dont know if this'll work, but...

There is a slight glitch less than 1 minute in, then later, just after you see my other half in a high-vis, there is a big power loss.. !!!

This used to happen with my Swift on occasion.
Eventually traced it to where the wires exit the motor. The motor can had slightly worn & cut the heatshrink thus causing a bit of shorting out across two of the three wires

Applied more heatshrink & it never did it again
          Cheers,
