  • Zimmerman pipe help needed

I have bought a second hand Freya with an OS70 and zimmerman pipe. It was giving me some problems with cutting out but it seems to be virtualy fixed now but does still have a slight flat spot. I have a couple of questions I would like some answers on.
The pipe has the pressure fitting on the bottom side of it. It makes me think that some of the problems are caused by it restricting the air flow and cutting the pressure feed due to it getting clogged with oil, fuel and the usual goo.
I am thinking that prehaps this pipe is a right hand pipe so the pressure fitting would then be on the top and some one has fitted it to the left hand side making it "upside down" so to speak???
Any one seen one mounted with the fitting on the bottom side before or doesn't it make a difference?
I was also told to do away with the gasket and use epoxy sealer instead?
Anyone recommend a good pipe to work with this if I decide to change it?

The Zimermann is a very good pipe, and yes, you're right, it is the wrong pipe for the heli. The pressure nipple should be on the top which means you need a left hand version, and you've got a right hand version.

Some pipes are manufactured with a nipple that can be fitted to either side, with a blank screw in the other side. Others like the Zimermanns are manufactured as a right-hand or a left-hand version, so you have to get the right one that suits the particular heli that you're going to fit it to.

Took the pipe off this morning ready for selling but have also noticed fuel around the pipe to manifold joint. When I blanked off the pressure nipple and manifold hole and blew down the end of the pipe it was leaking air and fuel residue from the joint!! Best put this one in the bin and buy a new one that is the correct hand and has no leaks I think, may go for a Harori SB-70 or get the right Zimmermann. I have also been told that the CY MP2 90 size is a good pipe for the OS70 as it breathes better?
