  • Best Exhaust for O.S. 91HZP

Hello everyone, I am just building the T-Rex 700 and have an O.S. 91HZP to fit . Any recommendations on a good exhaust system to use and best place to buy from . Many thanks .................

P.S. I am really into F3C flying so do not need a pipe for 3D Stick Banging !

hatori 939 is probably best bet as a known quantity.

check out revolution models for that pipe.

if you fancy something different there is also the GP exhausts which look atleast on par with hatori quality.

    cheers

For F3C the recommended Hatori pipe is the 995.

I just went through this process myself but for a different engine (YS91SR) but I think the same pipes were recommended for the OS as well. The other being the Funtech HN90 type F. Much to my surprise there happens to be a Funtech in the 2nd hand section at Midlands right now.

Steer well clear of the 'well-known' pipes which are aimed at the 3D market. They will give you great top-end power but won't hover well, after all, it's not what they're designed for.

I've got FAI pipes on both my YS91s.

One is the Hatori 995 HATORI 995 91 SR, ST TUNED MUFFLER FOR F3C on my 700. Works well but you also need the K&S spacer to make it clear the tank on the 700 -> Midland Helicopters Ltd Exhausts_Accessories

I've also got a Funtech Type F Revolution Models Funtech Mufflers on my Xcell which is marginally better than the Hatori in my opinion. This is the same pipe that Mark Christy was using on his Auroras before he went all electric. From reading another thread the other day, there may well be a 2nd hand one available at Midland Helis at the moment.

Edit: Oh, and the Funtech fits both YS and OS engines with its various fitting accessories, so if you're buying 2nd hand, make sure it's complete. The one at Midlands is likely to be one of Mark's old ones and will have been used on YS engines. Be sure to ask.

If it does have the YS fitting only, it just so happens that I have the fittings for the OS as I bought my Funtech a couple weeks ago and I am using it on a YS engine. (I never thought of looking at Midlands 2nd hand section but it may not have been there a few weeks ago anyway or I certainly would have welcomed the chance to save some money)
