    ..one of those happy accidents..

Went to the filed.. foggy, misty morning and just one plank guy there..nice chap so we flew turn about. I wanted to get some fluel through my fleet 'cos i donlt like to leave engines unrun more than a couple of weeks..

Just finished flyng the gasser when a bunch of plankers turned up..well not really a bunch.. two guys with an attractive lady friend..all neatly turned out with a new hairdo..

So, not wort the argument and I moved over to the heli-side of the flield. It's not nice there unless just hovering.. the lights all wrong. So I fired up Blitz, cranked him full chat and blasted around a tankful and landed.

Now it wasn't deliberate 'cos I hadn't even thought about it but when I turned around my exhaust had hung low and drifted past and the pits area was completly fogged up..you could see the oil droplets hanging in the air ....and an attractive lady with a sad hairdo..... Plank guys left shortly after...and 600 and I had the rest of the morning to ourselves..

I have vivid memories of creating my own fog bank on still summer days

But this leads me to the subject, and I was almost going to put a separate thread about it; I don't recall in the last couple winters anywhere near as much mist, fog, low cloud etc. as we have had this year.

I don't recall it being like this last winter. I find this misty wet dreary low-light stuff just the most unappealling weather ever.

such a sad state of affairs that you guys cant share the runway. ?

helis and planks both fly from our runway and works well.

A couple of years ago I recall going out and taking strings of misty morning photos..trying to get that prefect eerie morning with hints of trees and bushes pic...

Current weather is combo of low warm cloud seeping up from the south and all the melted snow humidity..reminiscent of those low rising mists you smetimes get in wet september.

At least warm enough to not need gloves..jts have to fly lower and closer..has improved my ticktocks
