Genuine or Dodgy?

I wouldn't wait 7 months to use it .

Possibly a copied auction page?

Trouble is the minority of scammers is growing so we do have to be more carefull than ever. I sell and buy both on heliaddicts and ebay and consider that the people here on heliaddicts are here because we all enjoy the same things "heli's" While on ebay due to the nature of the beast "sell sell sell or Buy buy buy" it tends to lend itself to scammers more because its obvious that people are looking to buy or sell . I'e if you are selling and someone scams you. You not only dont get paid but you have lost your item Who wins! The scammer... If your buying and you win weather you pay with good old paypal or whatever you trust the seller to actually post the item and if he dont! All he has to do is send the cash to another paypal address and close it down. Now you lost yer cash and the goods. Bin ripped of by buyers and sellers on ebay. So i look carefully at all before i commit to buy on there. At least here we are a small community so if things go wrong we can sort it out amongst ourselves. Hope this makes sense

I've bought from ebay quite a lot and and if you are sensible and buy from people with a good feedback rating you are pretty safe.

If I buy from anyone I always look at the feedback from the last 15-20 buyers. You can get a good picture from these comments as to whether they are genuine or not.

Also I ask the seller if I can collect the item and pay them in cash. If you get no response or they refuse saying stuff is shipped from a warehouse I know something is up.

In this case it would be wise to confirm collection is possible

IMHO That person looks definately dodgy and I'd leave him / her well alone.Not used the account since Feb 07 and everything he/she is selling is way below half price.

Well he has come back to me and said collection with cash is fine if i win, so darn im going to watch them 611s

I'm not so sure if he's a scammer at all. The prices look very good, but then they are just starting prices with no reserve, so he's obviously expecting them to go for more than the starting price. There's nowt wrong with that.

Also, some of the items are 'collect in person' which is an indication that he's at least honest enough to meet his potential buyers face to face.

Thirdly, all the items are used. The pictures used on the auctions are all stock images from trading websites, so are only an indication of what the actual item looks like, but again, there's not much wrong with that in eBay world.

Furthermore, as a direct result of this forum thread, he's probably got at least another 20 watchers on every one of his auctions.

Theres nothing to stop you getting in touch with 1 of the people that has left feed back for Him/Her and see what they say

I have started auctions at low prices as you incur less paypal fees and the you often get more people interested and bidding.

Also to have not used their ebay account since feb this year hardly seems like reason to be dodgy.

If you can collect then you are fine, I really don't see what the problem is. But make sure you do collect if in doubt!

Can't say it look's anymore dodgy than a fair amount of eBay stuff. My items must look well dodgy then :-) Possibly why I have not become rich!!

I have been an ebay member for about 3 years, and have only bought about 6 things, does that mean I am dodgey (on second thoughts don't anserw that )

Thanks for the mail and as you say you have been following this thread you'll see why i am a little worried when i see items for sale that take my fancy. I am sorry you feel as though i was singling you outbut the fact of the matter is when you have been a victim of scammers. And you see such nice gear for sale and would like to buy. You should understand that any prospective buyer who knows will try and accertain the seller is ligitimate. When posting on these forums you kinda hope the guy selling or a friend of the seller will pop up and say "yep i know the guy" he's ok. Your feedback shows the account inactive for a long time. And this is what made me a little concerened. Please accept my appologies i ment no harm. In fact it has probably helped rather than hindered the final sale prices you achieve.. I will post this and your mail to the forum.
