    hum....

Predator Gasser's are nice I had the Se version until I sold it. The 23cc one is smoother that the 26cc version. Century are at last shipping predator parts again so parts are no longer an issue.

I sometimes wish I didn't let mine go...

But predator Gasser Will 3D or will do Sports or a Camera ship. Not ideal for scale though.

Pull start on them and as long as you don't do what I did leave a tank full and get a soaked plug over night they run a dream.

Mine generally started with in 10 pulls.

Biggest thing is the shear size and blade spinning sat there, they do not sound like a Nitro and don't handle quite the same and when sat there in the hover the predator used to scream for speed... It is fast powerful and moves like a dam Monster through the sky....

Also they are a lot heavier than a 50 but not far from a 90 size.

First thing you need to do is make up your mind what you want to be doing with it, i.e scale type flying or something a little more aerobatic maybe some decent 3d flying?

Once you have made up your mind then there are 3 main players to choose from, more really but the most populare are these

VARIO either the Trainer for scale flying or the Acrobat (pricey but smooth as the drive is separated from the engine by a belt drive, which reduces vibration) pretty heavy as well at over 15 pounds!

Miniature Aircraft Spectra G, 3d capable light @ 13 pounds all up! and well designed but spares are very expensive available from Motors and Rotors.

Century Predator Similar in performance and weight to the MA Spectra G, but with very much cheaper and better supported spares suppliers in Midland Helis, and the UK Stockists Century UK. Available in 4 different version I think? which are the basic version, the SE version, the carbon se version, and the Condor. Condor being mainly for ap work to lug heavy equipment.

      Hope this helps.

The Robbe Futuras and Nova Quatro are both very good also, but unless found second hand on eb*y will be like the proverbial rocking horse pooh to find!! but if you do find either in nitro form the conversion kits to swap to gasser is pretty cheap from ercmarket.com so can be done pretty easily. The Zenoah heli engines can also be picked up new from China for about 130 quid for the 26cc Zenoah puh heli engine which is cheaper than a hyper 50 from some places!!!

Questions to ask yourself before taking the plunge with a gasser are.....

How far do you want to progress with any 3d flying? if you are happy doing more sedate aeros like loops rolls stall turns piros inverted, gassers are well up to this type of flying, if you are looking at tick tocks, chaos piro flips etc then youll have to be damn good to do them with a gasser!! much easier with a lighter machine.

If you hate having to charge about four sets of batteries before you set of flying for the day, and need to carry battery charges, fuel, starters, glow plug supply, lead acid batteries rags boxes of back up clobber, then get a gasser with a Duralite regulator on, and have 10 x 10 minute flights and just take the heli the petrol and your tranny and enjoy!!

If you hate having to wipe every crevis of oily slimey expensive nitro fuel of your pride and joy after a couple of flights, then get a gasser fly all day take back home and put back on the shelf till the next session.

And finally if your flying a Hyper 50 Heli and getting 8 to 10 minutes max to a tankfull of the precious stuff and fed up with paying nearly 20 quid a gallon every week or two, and finding that sometimes you aint planned it right and dont have enough to get through a nice weekend because the heli shop is shut on the weekend, get a gasser pull up at the garage and a gallon of unleaded will last ages.

The choice is yours my son!!

Well I think djtilko just about covered everything on the subject apart from stirring up a lot of interest every time you take it down the field.

I'm glad you let your Gasser go . Will be getting it's maiden flight tomorrow morning (well for me anyway).

Really looking forward to flying it, should be super smooth.

              Cheers,

you look after it, I never once bent it so look after it

I had it loop, stall turn and roll but thats it in idle up 1.

Oh and it can move quick when needed!
