  • Another BeastX 600 maidened...

Finally I've got around to finishing my T-Rex 600 with its BeastX... maiden flight this afternoon - absolutely PERFECT. I feel vindicated that I spent an hour and a half making sure the setup was spot-on while it was snowing yesterday :-)

There are now lots of mysterious parallel lines with no footsteps anywhere near them where I dragged the skids along the snow :-)

Whats that red wire hanging out of a tube on the skids for?

    knock knock...

      It's the aerial isn't it, 35mhz I think.

Alioth, would you post some photos of the beast installation, I'd like to see how other people have got theirs.

        Thanks

I've got mine the same as you But I think Alioth would have his on one off the two rear receiver trays or top of the tail boom

EDIT: actually, looking at the photo more closely, its loks like its on the top rear receiver tray.

You're right - that's where it is. There's enough space to get the little orange plastic screwdriver in there if I need it, and I can see the lights and get at the button - and it means all the electronics and wiring are within the frame. (The receiver is in the tray below, 35MHz dual conversion PCM-1024 Futaba thing. I'm staying on 35MHz for the time being because with everyone rushing off to buy 2.4GHz kit, you can pick up really nice radios for absolutely buttons - and frequency congestion is a thing of the past. Never had a glitch with the PCM-1024 stuff).
