      800 is just too big for 3D, power to weight ratio drops

      TDR 800


      Generally I can say after several test flights that the 800 size TDR brings no real advantages.
      Lower speed and agility. More problems with blade flapping or boom strike. More load for the motor and if you take a stronger one you will get so much temperature under the canopy that this will cause also problems. Than you will also need more battery capacity which will rise the weight.
      At the end you put a lot of unnecessary expensive things into a well running system to get less performance.
      I think that the 700 size is a real good choise for everything.

      Only if people like to cruise smooth with low rpm there is a reason for a 800 size version but on the other hand you can do this with the 700 version as well ;-)


      Longer boom and tail shaft will be available anyway for people who wants to make there own experience but for me it is important to give my honest comment to our attempts with the TDR 800 so that people know what they can expect.

        On friday we got Version 5.0.20, I think this could close to the last beta,But don't hold me to it!!!
        The user interface is very nice and also some changes to the main menu's. Uli's working very hard on getting it 100% before releasing it to the public.
        So far this weekend i've not had chance to fly, "Bad weather & other commitments" so can't comment on how ver 20 is compared to the last i tested, I hope to get out this week and try the new setup. but so far each new beta has been better than the last, in flying and cosmetics of the user interface.

        Yes the 800 is a big machine but it's testing the Governor and if you look at the head speed you'll see it's very constant during the flight.
