apparently they are not the same head, it is a 550 head, the grips, ball link and mixers are smaller. align has basically started to sell this for FBL conversion for both 550 and 600.

but the 3G 600 kit still come with the standard beefier head, so if you want a standard one, then you will have to buy them as parts and hence it works out more expensive.

skyline is selling the head as parts which doesnot come with feathering shaft and thrust bearing, but will add them for a fiver.

i got the info from bob at skyline.

but i found align-trex.co.uk to be far cheaper so i got one from them.

so i had to call a few suppliers to see what the story is. i could be wrong but this is what i got back. the head size is definitely true as the 550 head is a lot smaller than the standard 600's.

plus you will also need shorted main shaft i believe to use this head or longer links for the 600.

If your going to compare things then they need to be the same product, the ones we are listing are the true 600 heads, the ones on FL's site are the newer release 550/600 and while this certainly fit the 600 it's not the same head you get in the 3G conversion sets or with a 600 Nitro 3G model.

I think the basic difference is the 550 head is based on the 600 head but they slimed everything down a little to save further weight, I would have no issues with using it on a 600 as I am sure it's more than strong enough, it might bend a little easier in a crash though but I have not crash tested my 550 yet and don't plan to any time soon so honestly don't know.

Thanks for the clarification Bob, I think it was necessary. As Bob correctly says, ours are the new align flybarless heads for the 550/600 and not the ones split from the 3G head / controller combo's. Align havent released those heads on there own and it doesnt look like there is any plan to do so. :-)

Before I'd bought the 600 Align head from Skyline Models I looked for other option that also worked out cheeper but noticed replacement parts can work out more expensive & I'm not sure 550 head would look right on 600.
