Need some advise

I have bought some item from a well knowed hobby shop and the items came today but one of the item(servo) was just in a zip locker bag with the parts that it should come with, i was not happy with the item due to the fact that it was not in the align seal container and i had a real good look at the item and it seems like it has been use ans well clean because the plug had marking on it like its been plug into a rx.
So should i ring the shop tomorrow and complain and asked for a new one in a seal container or should i just leave it and use the item(servo)

If you think it's not new then yea I would ring and ask for an explanation at least and go from there.

It prob come out of a combo as I dont think you can actually get the kits without the servos etc, I think this is done by the model shops themselves but maybe wrong.

The model shop splits a kit apart. They sell the airframe to one customer (usually by request) and then sell the rest, ie servos, gyro etc OEM (not in retail packaging).

Usually the OEM parts are cheaper than retail equivelants. eg I bought some Futaba s3152s today for £16.99 each in generic bags. I think the boxed retail ones are about £25 each.

Check with the shop but all of 3 years back I got set of 3 hs65 that came in a zippy bag brought on a deal & have just resent replaced them with hs5065 & the old hs65 are still working like new.

I'm with the split kit explanation.

Take a peek on the shop's website and you may find they list the servo twice - one in a retail pack like this, and one unboxed like this.

If you paid full price for the unboxed version, I'd contact the shop and see what they can do to reimburse the price difference.

Not sure about all kits, but my 700 kit combo servos came all boxed and sealed.

I bought a 3x DS610 pack from align-trex.co.uk, and they came new in sealed bags tied together in a chain fashion.

Easiest explanation is that they have been removed from a combo kit, if a customer buys a combo kit (Align) and as usual with Align they hardly ever give you the option to buy without electronics so it is down to the shop to remove these at the customers request as they will probably want to run Futaba or JR etc... Not sure but i would asume that most people would want the full price of the servos knocking off the price of the kit (Don't say you would'nt becuase you would!) so the shop can not then sell these at a loss becuase they are not in boxes.
