I have not seen much in the way of FPV with helicopters - especially small models like the 450. Generally people use 35MHz for the Tx/Rx radio link and the video downlink is 2.4GHz. With small electrics 35MHz is somewhat glitchy as everything is so close together - also the additional payload capacity of a 450 would be low as would its flight times. I get 5 mins out of a 2200mAh pack in my 450 Pro with no additional weight... and thats just sport flying (no hard 3D)
It seems to me the general choice of platform for FPV is an inherantly stable plank so you have less to worry about when piloting the machine, with a twitch helicopter it would be very hard to keep it in the air let alone enjoy the experience... just my 2p of course

If your looking for something cheap to try out, then check out hobbywireless.com they have a pretty good selection at around £100. Although I have just opted for a set-up from firstpersionview.co.uk for around £400 as my first set-up. It depends on your budget how far you want to stretch, but if its just for FPV the hobbywireless systems should work well.

I assume that it's because they FPV systems operate on 2.4ghz themselves so offer more chance of a risk of problems in some sort of interference or crosstalk???
Firstpersonview.co.uk only sell 2.4ghz or 5.8ghz system's as they say the lower frequencie's tend not to be as reliable. the 2.4ghz systems need to be used with 35mhz radio gear for obvious reasons (although with the way spektrum and futaba's systems work it should actually be OK). not sure why it would say the same for 5.8ghz, but that is the recommended frequency if your using 2.4 tx sets.

I bought the 5.8ghz Immersion RC 600mW transmitter, with the ImmersionRC Dual Diversity Reciever, with (for the short term) 2 cheap rubber duck antenna's. The new antennas will be available next week, but theyre about £60 each and need 2 for the dual diversity RX.
That system should run fairly well with the spektrum stuff i use in the heli itself I hope.
