The Raptor is sedate and calm when setup out of the box, and has numerous options to turn up the response. The TRex is a 3D orientated highly responsive heli when setup out of the box which has options to turn it down, and up.
Your so called expert is probably quite happy flying both styles of heli for himself and should have discussed the differences with you and made adjustments as necessary. If he didn't talk about this with you, then he didn't act in your best interests or consider your ability, so his station as an 'expert' should be questioned.
Just because someone has been flying for a long time, or can perform every flipping, pirouetting, tumbling, sliding, backwards trick in the book does not by default make them an expert.
