  • Engine test stand question

I am trying to build a test stand for an OS 50SX-H
Engine. Does anyone have a good diagram with
dimensions for one of these? Or know where I can go to find any
info on how/what is needed to build one? And just
for a sanity check this is what I plan on doing to
start out my new engine. Just remember that I have
never broken in an engine before and I have yet to
fly my helo yet. It is almost built, but I am going slow to
make sure I do not do anything stupid.
I want to break the engine in on the test stand
using 15% NITRO fuel with about 3 oz of
Castor Oil added per gallon of the fuel. And
too put a small load on the engine I will put a balanced
prop (10x6 or a 11x5) on the engine. I will run the
engine very rich for a few tanks and then start to
work on leaning the fuel mixture up and adjusting it so it
runs as close as possible to what it should when in
the helo. (Am I all messed up so far?) Anyway thanks
    for all assistance.

    ENGINE TEST STAND

    Hi Mac.
I was going to lend you mine to take the measurments from and then spotted your address. They are quite easily made "Mac' although on saying that, as an engineer it was easy for me.You have not stated whether you required one of metal, or a quick and easy creation from timber, which if you have no access to machine tools is your best bet.
Let me know what type you require and I will e-mail you a photo of the one I made with the relevant measurments for you, then at least you can get an idea of where you are going.I would have done this now but the time is 2.15 am and well past my bed time.
