hi all, just wondering what the view of everybody on here was, looking at getting some 6s packs for the atom.

    The choices are

    3000mah, 20c - 30c turnigy packs from germany, £82 for 3, in stock

    2650mah, 25c - 50c turnigy nano tech packs, £95 for 3, on backorder

what is the general view on this, as understand from bladestriker that the 3000 20c i quite pokey, I am only hovering and learning circuits at the moment if this will sway your opinion

Yes, they are a bit more.

I would go for the Nano Tech's all day long

As your only learning, the more MAH the better, that will give you slightly longer flight times. You can still do some great 3D with 20-30C packs..

I've got 7 Turnigy 3300 most have had forty flights with no swelling or deterioration also have 5 other well known makes with less flights all but one have swelled.
The poss down side is the slightly extra waight & size of the Turnigy.
Today's outlook is fine for flying.

Are the nano techs ment to have slightly better flight times? I have one for my 450, but presently have no heli that is ready to compare them in

The fact that they are lighter than the corresponding standard Turnigy should give you a slight flight time edge- mainly it will boil down to the size of mAh pack you run.

My advice would be to go for the highest C rating you can get - less bogging and more punch that way. I've not tried the nanotech batts but they are getting some good reviews. I'm currently running 30c Turnigys and am moving towards the 40c units as I've felt a real improvement with these.

In one of my EDF jets I ran a side by side test with a 4s 2200 30c Turnigy batt and a 4s 2200 40c batt. I measured a sustained 10% increase in thrust (1000g became 1100g+). There was no weight or size difference between the 2 packs. That sold it to me.

right, so here we have the 2 options left now,

2 3000mah 20c as above which are available now

2 2650mah 25c nanotechs, available................ your guess is as good as mine,

had to reduce the ammount of lipo's, because getting a cellpro 10s, so, from the poll so far the 3000 are just infront, any more help would be great
