  • Metal arm for OS50Hyper

    Hello chaps,
I'm looking for a metal arm to replace the standard plastic one supplied on an OS 50 hyper, does anyone know where I can get one from?

    Cheers, Leigh.

why bother? the stock one works fine. The arm doesnt need to be stiffer as theres no torque to bend it.

      Leigh,

Quick UK do a range of anodised alloy throttle arms for various OS engines, they do both the earlier type with the idle screw in the middle and the later ones with the cap head bolt securing it to the carb. Have a look at www.quickuk.co.uk

      Cheers,
      Pete.

Are QuickUK parts as good as, and as safe as the Thunder Tiger made parts? Are they just cheaper upgrades, or are they better upgrades?

Quick UK parts are, in my experience, of very good build and design quality.

Wether all the parts are upgrades or just bling is another matter.

Of course, you're also supporting british industry by buying it, but thats a different story

You won't go wrong with Quick UK upgrade parts, but at the end of the day a lot of it is bling and unnecessary.

They are definitely not cheap and definitely high quality!

Me too, have to admit to having a fair amount of Quick UK upgrades on my Raptors, but most was bought before I knew better when I was starting out.

Having said that it has performed brilliantly for a couple of years, very hardwearing. My raptors each have over 700 flights logged on them now.

I was eyeing out the metal head package, which turns my plastic head bits into metal bits. Would that be a bling upgrade, or a worthwhile one?

Also, someone (Moyesboy perhaps) mentioned replacing my tail shaft, as it's said that the stock one isn't great. I see QuickUK has a steel one. Worth the upgrade?

It the TT tail hub that you really need to replace not the tail shaft.

You want either the Quick UK one, or the TT upgrade (PV0499).

In my opinion the standard tail hub which comes with kit is not safe, and many other people would agree with me.

The Quick UK metal head is very nice but for perfomance the Kasama head is better.

IMO Kasama head is tons better than the QUK one, the only problem is they are not available in the UK,

                        http://z-rc.com/

I have a QUK tail and they are good, ,but what I think Moyesboy is getting at is replacing the hub due to stories of the TT being weak at high speed, personally I never had a problem with mine when the head was at 2K, but I changed it for QUK tail hub just on case.

                          The TT one is £4.99:
                          http://www.realraptors.co.uk/zen-car...roducts_id=789

And the QuickUP one is a quid more pricey. Which one would be better for me? (Novice: Hover flight)
