  • The smell of Nitro

    Hi

Had a great weekend and managed five flights on the Shuttle in 2 hours

Did some side on (both into and away from the wind) and low level hover/land stuff.

This morning, all I can smell is Nitro

    Love it

    Cheers

    Good flying Mark!

Not such a good weekend here... I was really looking forward to Sunday afternoon - flying as much as I could.
I was trying slow piros and figure 8s (but ones where you come back toward yourself if you know what I mean). I managed to get 3/4 through the first tank and put the Raptor in with a dumb thumb and freeze brain overload type moment.
Luckily, I had the T-Rex with me and got straight back on it but I was shaking a lot whilst flying and could only manage side on and a very brief bit of nose in

My confidence (and wallet) have taken quite a knock. Wifey wasn't happy with the potential £100 bill either!
    Cheers, Lee.

Sorry about that Leebert. Out of interest, what did you break on the Raptor?

        I killed...

        Main shaft*
        Feathering spindle*
        Boom*
        Undercarriage leg
Main shaft bearing (notchy, but may just be old)
        Control hoops
        Flybar*
        Blades*
        9253 servo gearset

The ones marked * are good just to have spares at home - just in case

The boom and undercarriage were unfortunate as I had managed to level the heli off a bit before it hit but didn't have enought headspeed (or more likely brain power) to add more pitch before it hit. I did hit throttle hold though which may have saved some damage.
        Cheers, Lee.

          Nice crash then!
So the ones with the stars, I should maybe invest in now...
Still haven't flown mine, but... I WILL put it in at some point, so may as well start paying off the first crash now?

            Sorry to hear that Lee

Never nice to put a Heli in and the old confidence takes a bash as well.

Hope it's not too bad and chin up.

            Cheers
