  • The Mist...

Nearly as scary as the Stephen King movie.

Got the day off today and headed down to the field to find it fog bound.

Flew my Jerry Flying wing, which was quite good fun until it landed in the long grass and I think the moisture upset the speed controller.

Done some low level practice with the 450 and raced it up and down the strip, turing it around as it dissappeared into the gloom.

The mist started to lift and so I had a play with the 500, which as I'm an ex-plank flyer do prefer to chuck high into the sky....which was a bit unfortuante as I brought it out of a stall turn and screaming around in a big circle the fog suddenly came back in and the heli turned into a dark smudge in the mist....

        LOL
Reminds me of a friend of mine who tried his first loop in the fog..
He took his r50 nice and high,,started the loop and when it was about 3/4 in to it,
        it disappeared DOH!
Needless to say by the time he saw it again it was to late to recover

I have flown in damp, relatively low temperature conditions, with a very low fog and after the flights there was actually ise forming on the leading edge of the rotor blades!!!

lol yeah crazy fog! My friend went night flying in the fog last night and said it was unreal! The fog and heli lights created plumes and patterns apparently! I'll try and get a video if the fog stays for another night
