  • Flybarless 50 Size Kits?

    Hi All,

I'm looking for a new model, and i think i might go flybar less. What i want to do is spec if out myself, so i don't want any combos. I probably want to do down the route of a Total G or a V-Bar.

What i also don't want to do is buy a flybared kit, convert it to FBL, then then sell on the flybarred head.

There seems to be a destinct lack of kit only FBL 50 setups. So far i have actually only managed to find the Vibe 50 at £560.

What am i missing, What else is avaliable?

    Thanks

    Matt

Apparently there is a Velocity 50 FBL in the pipeline, havent seen any timescale about though.

You can also convert the head to FBL for £45 as Outrage supply all the parts seperately.

CENTURY-RC.COM have a few kits, no electronics etc. I got my first 600 from them, much cheaper than the UK.

The vision 50 only costs about £30 to make fbl (minus the controller of course). Ou use the same hub and grips, so all u do is take the flybar parts off and buy a couple of bits to drive the grips.

Got mine running with a beastx (si_b does also iirc) and it's great!

Oh and at only £200 the kit is fantasic value for money!

Cheers. Where are they based? I see they deal in USD but are they based there? If so any discount is gonna be destroyed when Mr Stingy Taxman takes his share.

Their based in Hong Kong, you can change the currency on the website to GBP with the drop down list on the right. I've had a few bits from them never taken more than a week for delivery. Bit pricey for express delivery though, but still cheaper than UK.

I reckon most manufacturers will start bringing out flybarless kits without electronics now everyone has the flybarless bug however at the moment most manufaturers just offer a head conversion kit for their flybarred models.

Whatever you decide to buy have a look at skyline models as they have a 10% discount on everything until christmas...! Remote Control Helicopter products and prices from heli,rc,Align,T-REX,remote,control,r/c,model,helicopter,raptor,sceadu,robbe,ys,os,tt,ho rnet,ms,blades, fuel, radio, Radix, Curtis, Youngblood

I know you dont want a flybarred kit but its £315 for a 600le kit... you could sell the flybarred head and get the bits for a fbl head and have spent less than the normal price of the 600le kit

              Thanks for all replies.

I've priced up the changeover parts for a 600LE to a 600 LE FBL, looks like £92 based on fastlads pricing, bringing it to around £450 before selling the flybarred head.

I think i'll just hold out for some more manufacturers to release kits, or keep an eye open for a used one.

Thanks for the skyline link, i'll be using them for an order before xmas for definate

              Thanks all

Go to align-trex.co.uk, superb prices for ALIGN parts, best I've seen in the UK. I priced up the ALIGN FBL head parts for about £70, then 600D blades for £40 ish, then a BeastX for £150. Good deal IMO

You could easily sell the sealed FB head for £80 I reckon.

EDIT: Century RC do the whole FBL head for £65 ish:
                CENTURY-RC.COM

Personally, I would just buy the parts separately from align-trex for an extra fiva and not worry about cusntoms

MinAir Fury 55 can be had as a Flybarless Kit - £499.

A few more options if you thought about going electric.

Century RC seems a lot cheaper than uk prices especially for that 700 for £300, best read this thread first though

Doesnt actually work out that much cheaper as you can get 700 kits in UK now for £399.

Thanks for that, as always seems to be a very 'hit or miss' gamble.

I just want something to build, and I want to build it now damnit!!

Just checked FL and its £80.74 for a 600 FBL head, assuming you start with a FB head. If you go V-Bar you won't need the head button bit for setting up, all the setup is done with a ruler.

Sorry for being pedantic Matt but thought your £92 was a little OTT for a 600 (from memory)
