The Trex 550 finally flies WOOHOO!!!¡¡¡


So it's now got a kontronik 80hv esc and it was faultless.

The mini Vbar on V5 express is incredible. Think i had about 5 flights with it. The only thing I changed with the little control panel thing I brought of Paul was the cyclic rate, I wanted it a little bit quicker. No need for the laptop and I did not even know what I was doing and it still only took 2 mins to do.


As for the plank haha, first flight I got it up ok and then soon realised the ail were reversed!! Crashed but only done the landing gear so it was hand launching from then and belly landings but I was having loads of fun with it. We called it plank wars! Gareth Sav and me were trying to hit each other mid air and it was so much fun. It's incredibly hard to actually lol.
I did crash it in the end, bot quite sure what I done but went in nose first and done the prop and snapped the fuse but a new cowl and prop and some cocktail stick, it will be good as new.

Srimok no2 did not come with me and Srimok no1 had a couple of flights but I was having more fun with the 550 and plank wars

So how did the v-Bar feel, was it better or the same as a beast X
I know there different heli's just looking for feed back from people who have both.

Plank wars was great fun. We did come close a few times and made for some intresting watching I reckon from all the noise people were making lol.

As or the vbar in comparison with the beastx.

I think it's a little early to say as I have only had the 5 or so flights but considering it's on a smaller Heli it is defo mote stable and just like Tim's my Srimok beastx can hover inverted hands free but the vbar can hover inverted for ages and ages. And that is out off the box set up.

Need to tweak the gain as in an inverted tail first hurricane (that I can't do properly btw) it was wagging like mad but in fff was ok so maybe only needs to drop a point or 2 and should be cool.

I would prefer to test it on the srimok so I will grab another I think and see how that goes.

Might sell the full size one as it's on the pro software and I really don't need the pro version or a full-size unit for that matter on the leccy helis

Just stick with the beastx and v5 pro express with the mini's¿¿!!

The one we got is electric - I spoke to the chap who designed it, and he said that the electric one (using a HET 2W-25 on 5S) is quicker than the ic .36 version!

Very carefully!!!!

One of the guys in my club flies planks really well. He was telling me that the secret is using the throttle to control the height coming into land - a lot of noob plank flyers try & use the elevator, and next thing, it's either diving into the deck, or stalling.

HET Typhoon 2W-25 on 5S Turnigy lypo, 85 Amp esc. 5.5 x 5.5 prop - just as suggested by Weston!

I thought I had it correct as I had to reverse the rudder also but obviously not lol.

How I managed to bring it back around me from behind in the other field amazed me.
