  • Jis screwdrivers

    Hi,

Does anyone know of a mail order site in the UK which stocks Japanese industrial standard screwdrivers. Screws supplied with all Far Eastern kits use a screw head which Phillips head screwdrivers just don't fit properly.

    Thanks,

    Fergus.

      Jis screwdrivers

      Hi,

Am I the only one who has found screw and bolt heads been shred by Phillips head drivers. Japanese kits use a different screw and bolt head to those used in Europe and the US. Heliproz.com rave about the Japanese industrial standard screwdrivers which they stock ' As used by Curtis Youngblood'.

      http://www6.mailordercentral.com/heliproz/default.asp

They can Mail-order a set but for first time overseas users they require all kinds of credit card details by fax for your first order. As I have not ordered from them before I am not about to start faxing credit card photocopies and bills for a few screwdrivers. I found a site in the US who stock the items jensentools.com they have two suppliers in the UK:

      Hunter Tools
      Unit 15, Worle Industrial Centre
      Coker Rd, Weston-Super-Mare
      North Somerset BS22 6BX
      TEL: (44)1934-521777
      FAX: (44)1934-521888
      e-mail: sales@huntertools.co.uk

      Longs Ltd.
      Hanworth Lane Trading Estate
      Chertsey, Surrey KT16 9LZ
      TEL: (44) 1932-561-241
      FAX: (44) 1932-567-391
      e-mail: tools@longs.co.uk

I have checked prices for both and they seem reasonable ( average 5 per screwdriver) I will order a set and post how I get on.

I would like to see some more posts on this item to see if anyone else has had trouble with the stock screws supplied with kits from the Far East. Or is it in my case just as the old saying goes 'a bad workman blames his tools'.

      Fergus.

Well there is something else I've learned, on my Fury and the Raptor 30 V2 I've never encountered this one.

        Thanks for the tip though
