    Vision & Sanwa

Hi I am a newbie and cant hover yet :-(
I have the Rd6000 Sanwa set and a supertec 0.09 servo with a vision hh 2000 gyro and i cant get the gyro to go into hh mode, the gyro channel in the radio only has a % option not a switchable on off as the manual suggests.

    Any ideas greatfully received

      Radio Choice

      Hi newbie
When you bought your Sanwa what where the reasons for picking that set - For me the biggest influence is "what are the seasoned fliers at the field using" All this talk about JR is the best --- Futaba is the greatest --- the truth is that there all very good .
Buy the one thats popular on your flying site and also the one that the LHS carries spares /servos / ext. leads for in abundance.

Is it a sport or super RDS6000 ?

I'm not sure that the Vision 2000 has remote gyro gain function, I'm almost certain that you have set it on the box so to speak.... I maybe wrong, what does the manual say.

          Hi Dabba

Unfortunately I'm not familiar with either tx or gyro, but if you are still learning to hover, I wouldn't worry about HH. You are using the rudder all the time and HH will fight every input you put in. If you can set it in normal mode, then go with that. You are only really going to need HH when you start doing aerobatics.
From info I have been able to find, you will have to select one of the flight mode switches to utilise the HH.

If in doubt get hold of the shop you got it from.

            Hi Dabba.
Yes you can use the heading hold with the RD6000 for that is the radio that I learnt to fly helli's with, I also used the vision 200 gyro.I have since changed to Futaba and cannot remember which switch gave you the HH facility.I do know it took me a long time to thrash it out but the radio worked fine and I had no bother at all with it.Just keep on throwing switches, and when you have the right one without the engine running, the tail blades will move to full pitch on there own. That is how I found out.
            GOOD FLYING.

              Thanks for all the tips.

I thought HH would help me hover as I understood it as locking the tail in the direction its facing ?

I flicked all the stuff and one of them did move the pitch slider but im not confident enough to fire it up and try it yet, so i will keep it in normal mode till i can fly :-)

              Thanks again

                    Stuart.
The Vision 2000 gyro has got the remote gain and I am still using one on one of my helli's.The gain is adjusted by the travel that is set on channel five, that is if you drop the travel down this also drops the gain, the gyro also has a gain adjuster fitted to the gyro, but this is deactivated when you connect to the transmitter.I am using mine now with the FF9 and it works a treat.Hope this info helps.

                    GOOD FLYING.

Does your manual read as below:-

                      RDS6000 Sport

                      or like this:-

                      RDS6000 Super

                      Cheers

                          Great stuff.

                          However its neither

they refer to a super or a sport mine says

                          RD6000

Must be early or something ?

I think it is a sport as the manual refers to three flight modes not four

                              Dabba,

I've took some timeout too read through the sport manual. Here goes:-

First you need to zero out the revolution mixing press the CH- or + key till you get to "RU" at the top of the screen, then the function key down it should show N : 20 (N stands for normal flight mode), reduce to 0%, the press the YES or NO to get RV : M (medium) & RV : L (low) & RV : H (high) reduce all settings to 0%. (Failure to set your revolution mixing to zero will conflict with the gyro's HH)

                              Press END once done.

Then press the CH- or + key till your change the top too "G" for gyro, now I'm assuming here that it'll work similar to the Futaba GY401 any % below 50% = Normal flight over 50% = Heading Hold. Your manual for the Vision 2000 should tell you this.

So press the function key down it should now show you N : 100% i.e. maximum gain (Normal Flight Mode), pressing teh function down key should change it too 1 : 50% (Flight Mode 1), then down again too 2 : 0% (Flight Mode 2), now in your Tx Flight mode is actually Throttle Hold set all to 90% for now.

I hope I've explained this okay, if you get stuck just shout.

Make sure that the gyro lead is into Channel 4 in the Rx (rudder) and the Aux is in channel 5 (gain settings) and obviously the tail servo connected to the gyro.
                              Cheers
                              Stuart

hi dabba, dont get caught into the trap pf thinking you need HEADING HOLD, i presume your at the beginners stage? learn to fly without it! learn how to use the tail rotor! otherwise your missing a VERY imprtant stage and will regret it at a later stage.
