  • Battery connector

I'm sure this is a dumbass question, the connectors for the ESC to LiPo on my Rex 500 are unterminated, as are the LiPos. I've got a pack of bullet connectors, but (assuming there is some kind of common standard), which end goes on which? Ie Female on the ESC or the LiPo.

The charger has a cable with a whole bunch of connectors, but seems to have one male (black) bullet and one female bullet (red), whereas where it goes into the charger itself it has male connectors.

Hope this makes a degree of sense!

    Thanks,

    Eric

Eric, I'd heartily recommend changing all plugs to XT60 type. You MUST ensure Lipo's are female and chargers and ESC's are Male. This is to avoid easily shorting out the Lipo's (and you REALLY don't wanna do that!)

I bought mine from a popular online auction site item number 130406784052

so going off your charging lead you need a Male to go on the red + side of the lipo and a female on the black - side.
then when the lipo is not connected use 3cm of fuel tubing to cover the male red end!.

Hope it makes sense. and always make sure you connect the charging lead to the charger before connecting the lipo

      I only use bullets 3 & 4mm.

        Two confliction opinions!

As I have the bullet connectors already I may as well use them. As far as what is commonly done, I'd rather change (modify) the cable from the charger than have my LiPos having some strange configuration than only I use.

LiPo = Female, ESC = Male.

            Another conflicting way for you

With bullet connectors you should really have them alternate:

Red wire: Female on lipo, male on esc.
Black wire: Male on lipo, female on esc.

I do this to avoid crossing the poles and accidentaly connecting the black to the red and also when charging.

Use heat shrink tube up to the end of the female connectors and stagger the connectors by making the red wire longer than the black on the lipo and vice versa on the ESC and charge leads.

Alternatively, just use Deans connectors, they are much better
