I'm really sorry it's my tablets that made me do it...

Lee you would be better to speak to Pete Christy I think as his son Mark uses them to sort a model out.

The mix can be used so that you move one stick but adds a little of another at a ratio.
So if you model always rolls doing hard elevator moves you could add some right into it etc.
I don't use any at the moment have done a few Governor ones in the past.
I have also seen it cause problems
        have fun

Revo mix should to be left alone.

Without a governor, when you perform a manouver, you have to increase throttle on the stick as power is taken/lost while the manouver is carried out.

You can get used inputting this slight increase on the stick. Or you can build in this correction within throttle mix for aileron & elevator within the radio & it does it for you. Start at about 10% & take it from their. Leave the rudder mix, as Mr gyro steps in here.

            Hope that helps.
You can teach a man everything. Apart from experience.

You can actually use a mix on the tail as well as it uses more power one way than the other

Best I can find, If you download the manual for the JR PCM 9XII, And read pages 28 onwards, Even if its not for your tx, It should explain everything you need

If you want mixes to help when not using the governor you'll want to setup programmable mixes for elevator to throttle and aileron to throttle as a starting point.

If the DX-8 is arranged like the DX-7 for the mixes I can tell you what I have in my TX.

I just wanted a small amount of throttle boost for elevator and aileron loads but I think Squeakypete has taken the mix approach a lot further for heavy 3D stuff.

The other common mixes would be to compensate for inaccuracies in flight when looping or rolling (unfortunately the DX-7 only has 3 mixes available so is kinda limiting in that regard)

A quick question, why do you want to get rid of the governor? I use a little bit of cyclic to throttle in order to help out a bit but the governor does a good job, but I wouldn't consider not using the governor.

had a bit of trouble with it, a lot of witch was my own fault to be honest, so your saying leave the governor on and use some mix as well

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't most governors completely ignore the throttle channel once they've enabled? I thought the throttle curve you set up was purely for emergency purposes (e.g. when the magnet falls off).

Once it's working properly a governor is a very good way to go because not only will it do pretty much what the mixes would do but also kicks in for any other reason when the revs drop below the target setting. Plus it lets you set a certain RPM and (generally speaking) lets you have more than one RPM setting that can be used in different flight modes etc.

Plus, unless the DX8 has more mixes available, you'd be limited in that with throttle mixing you don't have much left for any other mixes you might want (assuming you wanted to play around with mixes to correct swash phasing issues or something).

Many look at the throttle curve as well don't just ignore it. Not sure which do and which don't though. I seem to remember it allows them to read ahead as to what the demand is going to be. Others will fill in as I'm a bit out of my depth with nitro govs
