  • What I flew today

Yeah. I know it's not a helicopter but I am feeling fab all the same.

There is just something indescribably brilliant about watching something you built taking to the air for the first time. First couple flights for the model and the first fixed wing flight for me. Some reasonable circuits and very messy figures of 8s. All went well and I am really pleased that the flyer that took her for the maiden reported the model was flying great.

Well done, looks like a nice plane. I agree about the build, not quite the same just bolting a heli together even though they have to be set up right. I love my planes

        looks like a WOT trainer.
i have a couple of wot4s and a few other planks too.

its quite good to fly a plane in between heli flights.

It is a WOT Trainer with an Irvine 46 engine. Not too many parts to put together but there were some interesting challenges during the build. I wanted something to learn with that I am not going to be too gutted about crashing.

I am already looking for a more time consuming build to start around Christmas

get on to a low wing as soon as you can, its less floaty and can handle wind a bit better.

something like the blackhorse superair, travel air or speed air
