My new pro 2 arrived last Tuesday. I took it out of the box and spent the first night superglueing the lower canopy support back in its slot and reassembling the landing gear properly. I was not impressed. I read the manual a few times over the next couple of days, charged the battery and checked the servos were working and have spent every spare minute since trying to stop the damn thing sliding sideways. Everything else is dialed in and I have tried a few 'hops' and it shoots sideways, always to the left. Holding the aerilon lever over to the right helps a bit but adjusting the trim dial hard right does nothing. Don't Eflite claim to test fly these before sending them out?

Having the same issue on my sons blade, have tried trimming it out but no luck, after reading a bit online about it, it seems to be a common thing with the cp :-(
Am going to attack it again tomorrow & see if I can get it sorted in between building my CopterX ;-)

My very first heli was a Twister CP2 which I think is similar to the object (object I say, not heli) that you have.
It was the most awful piece of junk I have ever wasted money on. It never flew, cost me a fortune in (daily) repairs and nearly had me give up the hobby. What it did do though was condition me such that I was astounded how stable and easy to hover my first Trex 450XL was.
I recall that it said on the side of the Twister box something about being flight tested as well - lying bas*ards

tbh you need to bite the bullet and get it off the ground. getting it light on the skids will always result in the sideways slide.center the trims jump it up into the air and use the right stick to control it at first. once you have mastered this then try and trim it for flight

Well the cp pro is a cheap heli, and as such you get what you pay for
The heli sliding to the left when it starts to get light on the skids however is perfectly normal. Its just a combination of "ground effect" (The turbulance from the main rotors downdraught) and the tail rotor pushing the heli in that direction. Once the heli gains a little height this effect becomes minimised because the heli will tend to lean slightly to the right which compensates against the tail rotor pushing the heli left.
The smaller the heli the more noticeable this effect is.
You need to apply a little right aileron when lifting off and then get enough height to get the heli properly airborne, and out of the ground effect zone.

So i guess its the same old tricks with even the new version CPs. My first heli was a belt cp & it was not after about a month of constant repairs & not able to get it off the ground (being a newbie & all) i bought a gy401, a good futaba rudder servo, 3 hitec servos for cyclics & a futaba 9C transmitter.
I sat down and gave her a overhaul & presto it was flyable. I kept it for a couple weeks then sold it & got a trex 450 v1 & then my flying career started. To really get the CPs user friendly especially for beginners you will have to do some upgrading & fine tuning IMO.Planes want to Fly But Helis want to crash.... don't believe? take your hands off those sticks. Unless there's a Microbeast fitted.

Don't think this is a Belt CP which to be fair is a proper heli albeit a not very good one. This, I think, is the little thing with a motorised tail and 4 in 1 gyro come receiver etc. Not upgradeable.Originally posted by seemore74 View PostSo i guess its the same old tricks with even the new version CPs. got one of these about a week ago... i thought for the price it was worth a look for something to fly around the garden.
couldn't get it off the ground without it sliding about all over the place either(don't have a prob with the 450)... i taped 2 legs of my old 450 training gear to the bottom with the foam balls... solid as a rock on take off now. i think the heli is to light maybe. when its trim'd up it does fly nice... maybe abit to quick to react for a beginner, makes my 450 seem sluggish.
its not got a 4in1 its a 2in1 just to control the 2 motors, proper spektrum rx eflight HH gyro...brushed motors but can be upgraded to brushless. flys ok its just getting it in the air

Thanks for the help friends, I was thinking myself that it might be the rudder helping push it sideways. I did try taking off with some right aileron but my garden is small with a wall of conifers all round so if it does'nt fly straight within a couple of milliseconds its shut down and try again. I think I will have to take it over to the local country park for a fly, loads of open space there and just the occasional dog walker to contend with.
