  • FF7 Jumps between normal and idle up?

ive just helped a mate set up his raptor and this weird jump in pitch is happening. he's using a Futaba FF7 and a pcm reciever.

we set up all the curves everything was going ok, and then I noticed this little jump, its dropping the pitch by about 1 Degree and then reverses when going back into normal. There is no change between idle up 1 an 2.

Ive been through all the transmitter settings but can't find anything that would be causing it, has anyone got any ideas?
    All the best
    Tony.

Hi Tony Is the jump on the heli? I'e mechanical rather than electrical
Maybe its the swash binding on the main shaft...... Just a thought!

        its definately from the servo.

Yes I centered them all and ive check at mid point all the curves are 50 75 100%. Interestingly the throttle doesnt move its just the pitch.

As for servos i'm not sure what he has in there, I did look at the time butcant remember now, after all I have slept since then lol

Are you sure there's no subtrim in there, it's easy to miss,Just a thought.

Are the top and bottom points the same when you switch between the 2, just another thought.

A couple of 600n's with stuff on them that makes them fly..
A 550 fbl with even more stuff on it to make it fly
And a Mars 470 which needs stuff putting on it to make it fly

            And a DX8 too

              if normal pitch is -5 0 +10
              Idle 1 -10 0 +10

it will jump when switching because the pitch curves are different below mid stick,
try putting all P curves the same,

nope no missing teeth and yes it is as though the pitch curves are set differently but above 50% they are all set the same.

nope no subtrims on the pitch again checked that, looks like were all thinking along similar lines, im glad to say.

another thing if I inhibit idle 1 and switch from normal into idle 2 it does the same. as I said before Im flumoxed, was hopeing someone would tell me of a known problem on the FF7 or something. but it obviously isn't gonna be that easy.

                      Yup

although we did change the endpoint on the throttle, hmmm, could this having an effect on the pitch?

Willing to bet this is hovering pitch/hovering throttle.
you have to inhibit hovering pitch in the menus.

It only applies to normal mode, so you get a difference in normal comparesd to 1 and 2 (and t hold) even when all the curves are the same.

Hovering pitch nob is a pretty useless feature really.

You haven't got pitch and throttle channels in the reciever the wrong way round, don't want it to come across like I am saying you are likely too, it was the next thing I would check.
