I have been looking at these today and im tempted to buy one as it will fit in the boot easily and its about the size of a 500.

There 2.4Ghz system also looks pretty good.

Might be a bit biased, but I would not touch a product from Walkera again. Trex 500 or Raptor 30 way superior.

If I remember rightly the spares for the heli in question are outragiously over priced so be sure to take a look at the crash cost before taking the plunge.
May well be better off saving a few more pennies and buying a 500.

The Walkera 83 is sold over here rebranded as the Century Kestrel. Plenty of threads on here and elsewhere attest to the quality of it (or lack of it).

sooner or later you'll experience a flameout, and those little helis can be nasty to auto when it catches you by surprise.
The smallest nitro size I've ever seen in use is .30, and you wonder why.

The 2 Walkera helis I had were both poorly made, incompatible with everything, especially radios, and flew terribly. And I thought Esky stuff was bad.......

I don't know how much they are but they must be dirt cheap for anyone to want to buy one?

someone up at my club had one.

never flew right and nothing but trouble.. I don't think it's seen the light of day for several months..

our experienced heli pilots looked it over but could never get it to fly right..

I think the old addage 'buy once buy right' applies in this case...

                        BURN IT WITH FIRE!

Although its a nice idea, its too small, the engine too fussy and the build quality not good enough quality to take the stresses of a nitro engine.

My Kestrel is in its final death throws of being stripped down - the gyro I've given to a friend and the radio gear I'm going to use on an FPV plank.

a little heli that maybe you can fly in a smaller space - except its
                            !!!HORRIBLY NOISY!!!
You are going to have to take a nitro heli out into the ewide open to fly iyt no matter how small it is, so it may as well be a .30 or a .50.

Smaller helis work well as electric as you won't annoy the neighbours if you fly close to home.

A 500 size heli autos prefectly well, so that isn't really any problem.

I own a few Walkera micros and love the way they fly despite their issues but I wouldn't dare to fly one their bigger helis.
