  • Align servo's jitter on 5.5v and 6v.

Got these on my 450 Pro BeastX heli and if I set the BEC to 5.5v or 6v they jitter quite considerably. I was hovering inverted a few feet in front of me and I noticed the heli was jittering. When set back to 5v the jittering is not there.

    Anyone else had this issue?

The 410's are rated upto 6v.

..question whether the jitter is due to servos or due to other.. rx/fb unit.. or ideed voltage drop or grounding to carbon or picking up regulator or motor emf or if esc is wobbly when outputting..

    ...more testing needed?

DS520 which doesn't jitter at all.

It seems to be the Castle Ice50 causing the issue. When the servo's are plugged into the Align ESC using the same Rx they don't buzz or jitter at all.

        Hmm.

Moved ferrites about with no change. Looks like it will have to go back to the shop.

Oddly, it doesn't do it with the Hitec Analogue servo's. This is the problem with upgrading, nothing ever seems to work as it should for me.

If you have a TV with both analogue and digital then on bad reception days you might get a sl snowy pic on the analgue but the digital just keeps stalling out... same will happen here with EM interferences

A friend of mine had exactly the same problem.

The 410's are power hungry. To prove the problem disconnect 1 of the 410's = The jitter stops. You should be able to re-create the problem on the bench.

It's a problem with certain BEC's and the amps drawn by 3 X 410's via FBL controller.

But they only jitter when using the Castle Ice50, they are fine on the stock Align and also cheapo hobbywing esc's. Also they jitter with 1 or 3 plugged in which again suggests a fault with the esc rather than an issue with the servo's. Am hoping heliguy will offer a replacement, it's only had about 4 flights.

Yes, it's not a problem with the servo's its the ICE. Take more load off (disconnect the gyro/tail) the jitter should stop.

This is a known problem with the castle ice.

                      see here

NB Castle also state that it is essential to use the PC software in helicopter applications

See here for solutions T-REX 550 do you use bec or battery - Page 1 - RunRyder RC Helicopter

                      (Quoted from the above ....

the BEC isn't very smooth as the symptoms I was seeing were caused by the switching BEC circuit.

Another ESC proved it wasn't a duff unit so I duly fitted a CC BEC PRO which is working flawlessly alongside the ICE100.

Heliguy are aware of the problem and should exchange it for you. Try a Jive instead or keep the Ice and get a flightech regulator (about £30)

Thanks for the info. Thing is it jitters with only one align servo attached and nothing else. It definately should require an external bec, bit poor really considering I paid £76 for it and the stock Align one does the job as well.

Contacted heliguy today and they hae asked me to return the unit and will give me a full refund. Very happy with the outcome.

                          Thanks Heliguy!
