    Hello 1 and all,
I'm new to these shores, and you probably got this thread already (somewhere)

I went out today for a few pac's, without a wingman, which I usually always do. Anyway I just started on my 4th pack, coming out of my first circuit and back in front of me, when this frigging dog was wanting a bit of CHOPper. I could see the owner, about 400mtr's away just watching, anyway as time was clicking, I start to wave my arm, then shouting CAN YOU CALL YOUR DOG. She just waived back lol.

Anyway, all was well in the end, LUCKILY, and when everything was shut down, I went to talk with her. I say sorry for shouting and explain the dangers ect and all she said was "Its not my dog, serve it right"bla bla bla..... WHAT???

I go to that field a lot, and get on pretty well with the walkers I see, and they all give consideration and have Respect for our models. Why is it, you always get 1 or 2 who could spoil a good thing. As with most public spaces RC models are a nono, even tiny park fliers.

Anyway, I thought I'd share that with you, and get my first thread up n running and say HELLO
    Regards, Stu

Hi Stu, always had the same problem, public round here are generally idiots. But you can meet the very nice few (amazing differences).

Find my many threads on the same subject.

Now I can drive I can go to the local forest where I fly with mates without any bother at all, such a nice difference. And dog walkers there are sensible too!

Its football players that spoil it for me, on a football pitch, during football season. Inconsiderate children!!

        Hello Laurence,

Yeah you do get em, I bet it is relaxing out in the sticks ripping the air with the lad's. Work and family commitments is a bit of a juggle for me, so the local field will have to do for now.

And now the darker nights a drawing in, its time to start looking for a new year venue, but today was a total first. Saying that, last year I had a smash when a wee dog come from nowhere barking at me. Me startled by a waggy tail dog and 450 eating dirt lol.

I suppose it served me right, moral here is, always fly with spare eye's

Just wonder how long it would be before Councils stop park flying,i used to do it myself but just fly at the club sites now.

I have heard people moaning that the park is for everyone, dog walkers included and the dogs are allowed to roam free and the model fliers are the ones actually doing something potentially dangerous to others.

I do fly stuntkites in parks still though in Poole and people do still wander under the lines between you and it where as if it was me i would take a wide berth.

Just wondering if an accident happened would it be the kite/model fliers fault or the person who maybe wandered to close.

I personally wont fly anything RC in a public park now.

At our club we fly in a public park and if somebody is flying then we become spotters for that pilot. But even though its well known that there is a flying club in the park people not just dog walkers will owner across the flying area.

Ok I'm more educated about model flying than the public but would you really walk under a model plane that weights 5kg with loud nitro engine.

                I wouldn't!!..

I always fly on a public park, and normally manage to position myself so I can see people coming from both ends of the field. But there's always the stealth one's that manages to creep round behind me.

But now that the 600 is nearly finished I will be looking for a club.

                  Cheers
                  Chris.

We had a group of about two hundred walkers, i don't think they had a brain cell between, Matt Long was flying at the time, they walked straight towards him without a care in the world, after a lot of trying to explain the dangers they walked away without a thought about the danger they put them selves in, by the way Matt did land before they got to close,
what a bunch of *******. it's a dedicated flying site with signs all round the field warning of the dangers. what do you do with people like that.

You will always get the odd few, I especially find the 13 year old chav standing talking to me while im flying annoying, especially when he says when i land can he stop the blades, by hand!! yeah go ahead I will give you a lift to a&e fella And then he tripped over my 35mhz futaba ff9 aeriel on my tx when I went to get the heli!!

Not all bad though I had a pensioner the other day telling me I needed my trex 450 in iraq and afgan to help the troops out!!

Hello guys, hope you dont mind me jumping in wit my first post. I fly with Dunnyboy down here in sunny Hampshire and thought Id give this a pop.

The park thing can be a nightmare we had a group of chavs playing golf right in front of us. one of the balls landed just behind us and the guy wanted to play his ball across us as we were flyin. Needless to say there was a few words exchanged lol. What I wanna know is where has the common sense gone ..................Don
