  • BeastX - taking the Pi** !!!

I don't know about you guys, but I don't think this is on !
The BMFA Classified Ads Service / Beastx Flybarless Controller - N.I.B
This is the second advert on BMFA for a BeastX being sold for more than the RRP. Anyone in the hobby has the right to sell stuff, but not to exploit others due to availability. I guess you don't have to buy it at that price, but it surprises me that someone has the cheek to ask this price.
Sorry to air this here, but I feel strongly about this sort of practice taking place.
What's your take on this sort of thing ?
    Mike.

If you feel that strongly about it, send them a message?

Seems to me that it's a typo and they meant to put a lower value?

Doesn't bother me what people ask for. What they ask for and what they get are two very different things.

I don't like it, especially when somebody buys all the stock for just this type of thing, Iam thinking back to the last round of games console releases, this happened then.

There is not a lot that can be done to stop it though.

I saw this earlier and thought the same. Boll*cks was it ever for a scale fus, if that were the case the very worst you could do would be to put it up for full rrp, getting back what you paid for it, but trying to make £15 profit, hardly worth it is it? Pathetic...

It's not a typo. There was another advert a few days ago, the asking price was £200. I thought this was a typo, but it was shortly changed to £165. When I contacted the chap he said it had been sold.
I may contact the BMFA, surely this isn't on ?

What can you possibly do. I agree it's pathetic.

If whoever buys it is happy then so what.

Btw. Don't go on eBay as you will see concert tickets etc for more than rrp

It happens and contacting the bmfa will do nothing as they can not do nothing. A long as it's a legit sale an not stolen etc then there is little to be done about it.

I was curious so I emailed the guy...........I am quite dumbfounded by his response!

I emailed explaining that you could get it new from UK for less than he was advertising it.

"Hi, well aware of that - I got one from overseas and the price I am asking covers what I paid plus shipping. I have added on £5 for myself as profit, nothing more than that.

I got fed up with waiting for it to become available to buy in the UK - have tried FastLad, Midland Helis, Skyline and Revolution Models without success. They do get them but sell out straight away on backorders alone and don't know when they will be available to buy on site due to unexpected demand/backorders for the product.

Asv stated in the add, I have it here New In The Box, so you can get it straight away"

                  And the problem is??

If you were selling somthing on eBay and a group of muppets bid for your item and it goes over the RRP, you wouldnt give them a part refund to match the RRP you'd take the profit, its simple - if you think its too expensive keep away from it. We all pay stupid prices really, like the cost of lipo's from the UK but thats just life.

Will it upset you to see Beast X being sold at RRP less 10% in a few mths time?

No thought not. Supply and demand...get used to it.

your example is kinda different. if you list an item on ebay for a low number and it went up higher than expected... then that's the bidders dictating how much they want to pay.

this beastx listing is different. the seller had directly listed a price higher than rrp deliberately!

If your serious about the hobby and are looking around the market for a high end flybarless system then you know what the average price of each unit will be.. So if you know the price is higer than RRP and are willing to pay it then thats your decision. There's no scam going on here its just supply and demand.

                          knock knock...

Put yourself out of your own misery and purchase the unit from here
                            BEASTX | V-Stabi / Flybarless

It will cost 10 euro for courier delivery to your door.

If you want to talk about ripoff go and ask the UK sellers why they have it priced at £150 pounds when in Germany it is priced at £133 with the current exchange rate.

Doesn't bother me at all, as long as they expect to be outed on an open forum to people who don't want to be ripped off. Just life, as you put it. Of course, you can always vote with your wallet.
