  • Wood blades+ logo 400 @2400rpm= disaster!

Apparently my estimated headspeed was 2400 rpm minimum on my logo setup.

Halfway through today's second flight both blade roots let go and my Heli is a write off!

    Usable parts remaining:
battery tray, battery, moter, esc, tail boxes and servo, blade grips and feathershaft, canopy, vbar head block n washout, mini v unit.

The frames, metal moter mount and all servos were unusable, main shaft bent. No damage to blades indicating blade strike. Booms chopped in half on landing.

It litrally exploded in mid air, gotta be my best effort so far!!

Seen this happen with a raptor with woodies

The blade roots on the raptor were not expoyed in place...

And I'd suspect the same thing with the logo head speed to high and with out the plastic part of the grip glued in place to much for woodies and they let go.

Got to be nuts to run woodies on anything these days? GF blades are silly cheap now, and even carbons are available for very cheap. On a FBL machine too, hope it doesn't cost too much to get back up the in the air, the main bits minus blades look to be less than £50, go for it!

Hey guys keep an eye on BMFA as i saw a unit go for about£50 average £75.

I would save my money and get something else as there is inconsistency in the production of 3G units.

                      Just a thought.
