  • Stupid Question

    ops:
How do I get my Airtronics RD 8000 Radio to work with the Real Flight R/C Simulator? I have the adaptor cord for this type of radio? I am very new to this (building first helo now). I will have
more stupid questions later I am sure...
Thanks for any and all assistance.

Im not sure which adapter cord you have but you need the correct lead and interface. I got mine from http://www.rc-electronics.co.uk/
If you check the link the one I bought was the "USB version of JSIM". You specify which Tx it is to be used on when you order and it comes with the correct plug fitted for that Tx.
It works a treat on my RD6000 and Realflight G2

      When you say

I have the adaptor cord for this type of radio?
Are you sure its the right cord ?

When you switch on G2 does it recognise that you have a transmitter connected or not ?

If so you then must next calibrate the controller. Once done and you've made sure that all the servo's are operating correctly and the gryo is setup then you should just select a heli and within the heli selection change the controller to your one.

      Then fly

        realfight controller

        Hi Mac.
It is most likely the case that you are not changing over from Joystick mode into Interface mode. This is achieved by clicking on options at the top of your Realflight screen, then onto Controller Calibration, and then if it is in Joystick mode, click on the arrow to show Interface mode and then select that. You will then be asked if you would like the settings calibrated by Realflight, so make sure all trims are centred before you comply.Hoping this helps you Mac, and wish you every success in flying helicopters.

Thanks to all for the assistance with this. I figured it was something simple, and it was, I did have the correct cord for my Airtronics Radio, but I did need to change over from Joystick into Interface Mode, then Cal My Radio, and finish the rest of the set up. Now it all works like a champ.
Thanks again for the accurate and timely replies.

Is there a dongle for the Airtronics RDS8000 in order to be a controller for the Phoenix simulator, and if yes where can it be purchased? Thanks.
