Someone didnt read the update notes on the spektrum site

Note: All software files are unique to the serial number registered online and will only work with the matching transmitter. Using an SAX file created from a different account or serial number will fail.

If you follow the link above you'll end up on the Spektrum site where you can download your personal version, I don't think anyone intended to imply that the firmware itself was being hosted for download.

Why are these updates hidden in a password protected area? I can understand that they may be serial number specific, but would a flag on the home page, or at least the DX8 page, not be good to alert users that there's a new update available?

I registered yesterday to get 1.01 and they didn't tell me that 1.02 was out which I was hoping they would
I only found out thanks to the forum
