Trex 700 Align 3G Flybarless

Had first hover with the 3G system to day but in didnt last long. The heli took off perfect into a very stable hover just running the engine in. Then after half a tank the ailerone control went mad,still had fwd,aft and tail control. Hit throttle hold it came down and damaged the main and tail blades and broke a skid. Could have been a lot worse. Telephoned fastlads for some help and they said to send the 3G system back for test. Ive also send the broken bits back too

Has anybody else had a problem like the above

sorry to hear of your problem and crash cant say ive had any probs with my 3g 700n what software version are you running as earlier versions had some issues ??

It's only a bad vibration causing it
I had a few weeks of it
are you running a lower head speed ?
Change the pad from align to a futaba one this will help
mine was on a heli which had been fine then was bad
was the pad for me

19000 ish give or take been playing with headspeeds and deffo prefer the higher so does the heli

As mentioned a very very good chance its vibration doing it - those Align sensors really do not like it up `um.

Been playing around trying to get my 700e 3G sorted for weeks now - probably somewhere near but still playing.And this is electric

Mines a tail issue anyway.

I`ve tried quite a few sensor pad arrangements and at the moment I`m using a single Align pad,Align Metal plate,Spartan thin tape and then the sensor and it is quite tightly strapped down with a wide strap.

Still got another type of tape and a couple of non sensor things to try if I have to.

Hey.

Being honest it doesn't sound like you have a vibration issue, especially as you had half a tank with no trouble as the engine would have been running richer at the start of the tank and hence rougher.
Also many strap down the 3G sensor hard, quite why I do no know as then it's not worth having any foam pad :-)

From experience i had a dodgy connection lead from mixer to sensor box, the black negative pin wasn't inserted correctly and got bent making intermitant contact.

Another idea is your power supply, what regulator are you running?

Also where are your gain pots set to?

I'll be interested to hear the diagnosis of the unit.

Sorry to hear about your crash dave,

I have my 3G sensor on a thin Futaba pad and strapped down hard only to help with the tail wag (its much better but not perfect)

Aileron and elevator on the 550 have always been excellent.

Hello Ray ive fitted a spartan quark gyro just for the tail because ive heard there were issues with tail on the 3G

I had the same problem, I was hovering my 700le and running the engine in when it rolled to the right. It was only 1-2 feet off the ground so no damage, I haven't had the time to fly it since the software upgrade, but im sure it will be ok now.
