wanted model engineer.

does any body know of a clever model engineer that can sort my problem
i have a hirobo lama with a century three bladed tail,it decided to throw off one of the blade holders the other day.
on inspection its stripped the small thread into which the blade holder fixes to the main three bladed alloy fixing.
it needs poss drilling out and heli-coiling or some other clever way of repairing it if poss,see pics.
any help gratefully appreciated. Dj.

as far as im aware helicoil requires no special machine tools.

yes they are not a problem to fit, But make sure you do all 3 to keep the hub in balance.
Or the other way make a new one, or try the one from Vario helicopters .

if you're going to helicoil it do all 3 so its ballanced plus the other threads might be on their way out too

Or just tap them out to a size bigger and replace all three screw's ? would be the easier option

If you can get the hub off and send it to me i know a man that can machine any thing, He's just made new internals for a hanno pretner os 61.

thanks for that,but i would then have to try and sought new bearing sizes as internal size would need to be bigger for a larger screw.

It's not just a case of having the inserts sent to you, you will also need the correct oversize drill, the correct tap for the coil, and the insert tool to wind it in.

I have M3 kit at home, so if you want it done, PM me, and send it over and I'll do it for you.
