    Hi Guys,

anybody fancy giving me an update on what the current flybarless systems are? pros/cons etc

last time i flew there was only CSM and mikado. Mikado took some setting up and CSM had no tail integration so suffered destabilisation during pirouetting moves.

    I run Mikado V5.0

Pro's - On rails, easy setup and no auto problems
Con's - Having to pay for large updates / No UK direct backup and expensive outright though times are changing on this with the new competition from Align & BeastX etc

This revolution really took hold this year and more and more heli's are being released in either configuration.

Still to come is Spartans system and maybe I don't know but I'd expect a new CSM one at some point there current method just is too much hard work by the looks of things.

Loads of others can comment on the Align and Beastx - plus others but for me I aint looking back - love it just converted my N9 to it and flew this weekend in blowing wind and it flew as they do on rails.
    Cheers
    Stuart

Go to the BeastX forums and see the many posts there

I chose that over the new Vbar and dont regret it for a minute.

Only ever tried the align system and was not mega keen, but the others are so called getting better reviews.
I liked the locked in feel in big manovers but i didn't like how it sort of took over certain adjustments and the tail on the align system wasn't great

I plugged and played my 3g on my 600n. I'm only hovering and flying around with the odd flip or roll, so can't say too much. But is is seriously up on power, flight time, and the wind hardly has any affect on the Helis stability.

Added to that, less parts to break in a crash, I'm loving it.

Seems Duncan Osborne no longer possesses a flybar heli. All 3G.
So it would seem to suit an impossibly smooth style of flying...
It will be the way to go - still not sure when to try it myself.
Great to hear from you again Aide.

Vbar (version 4) is the best one I've flown so far - I've not flown v5 yet.
                Align 3G works fine.
Beast X feels better than the Align.
Test hovered the Total G in the dark last night, so not yet got a comparison on that

All systems need good solid head mechanics - any slop and it punishes you by shaking and wobbling etc.
                My summary so far
                Cheers,

I just did my first flybarless flights this morning with a TRex 500/BeastX and I thought it was superb.

In a nutshell, it's extremely stable and extremely agile at the same time and also seems to have a little extra power. As Stuart said, it flys like it's on rails. It more or less makes it like a perfectly set up heli.

The BeastX was so easy to set up as well. I didn't make a single adjustment to any of the pots/gains at the field -I just took off and it was perfect right off the bat!

Im sure everyone will defend thier chosen system....but at the end of the day they all will work and they all "feel" quite differant.....Robs comments about head slop is 100% true....but you have got rid of alot of the possible slop when converting to FBL by junking 80% of the linkages. Also dont be tempted to "over dampen" the head by fitting real hard dampers.....it dont work to good on FBL systems.

One other thing to look at is how much the system you are looking at can reduce or increase your wiring by getting rid of the main receiver or not.

I have now flown both Mikado V4 and V5....and although they can be setup to "feel" very similar the V5 seems to handle the wind SO much better, tail control id say is pretty much the same .....and V5 appears to auto better for some reason.

                      Thanx

                              Flown 3G and V-Bar .....

Prefer the V-Bar currently but the 700E on 3G flies pretty well, most of the problems are the tail gyro response.
