I guess he has tamed down his routine these days. He used to do backflips at what seemed like not near enough altitude (and in fact it wasn't enough when he did one and ran out of sky at a show in Las Vegas).

Enjoyed the heli flying, was a shame to see that chap crash so early in the flying slot.

Was sitting on the flight line when the 700 went in with a bang. The chap who finished on the inverted auto was flying really smooth.

Had a great laugh all weekend, will hopefully have more time next year to be able to stay later and camp over.

We lost a couple of models in the Mayhem slot due to a mid air when trying to fly through the gap in the trees. Both models were found, but not their engines.

My model managed to survive in one piece, was quite chuffed with a few of my low passes.

Don't really understand the comment about "crappy planes" etc. The great thing about the show is that all models are represented. DB sound is just personal preference, a really nice bloke. Did seem like there was a lot of carnage today. Was helping out a chap as a helper in the first jet slot when he had an uncommanded full up elevator on a pass over the strip....was not nice to see one of those go in.
      Cheers,
      Simon

That was me doing the inverted auto's The variety of planes this year didn't seem to be quite as good as usual, although there was some very good flying. Hopefully next year the organisers will tip the balance a little bit towards us, I did request that heli's get a couple more slots It was a great fun weekend, and some of the crashes were really spectacular

Had a couple of flights between the rain showers with the Turbine, weather seems to be improving

There's been me, Danny lock, roger mayo, and a couple of others flying Heli's. Got another couple of flights thi afternoon, and again tomorrow. Fingers crossed the rain now stays away.

What a weekend! Today was absolutely superb - Great weather, hot, sunny most of the day, barely a breath of wind all day, and some great flying from all. I personally managed 8 "display" flights over the weekend, all without incident, and I believe Dave "3 second" gizmo had an incident free weekend, along with some great flights.

Roll on 2012, the Heli presence is growing each year, so perhaps with a few more registered Heli pilots, 2012 can be even bigger

Second year I've been flying and meant to come over and say hello, but didn't get round to it. That turbine was a bloody show stopper mate, personally I think you should have been given a bit of time to yourself in the slot just to blast up the strip and eat up some sky with the smoke on. No disrepect to the other heli's fliers who put on a great show, but 95% percent of the croud have no idea what it takes to do a "flip flop" (you'd have to have been there to know what I'm talking about), but speed and smoke are a winner.

The lady talking through the AHA stuff was good as well.

Maybe we will speak next year !!.
                      Cheers,

Thanks, it was a real buzz to fly something so unique in public like that, but as you say, a bit of a shame we were all lumped in together and as such, couldn't really stretch its legs. The Saturday morning slot was the best for me, I had virtually the entire runway to myself thanks to the rain shower (massive thanks to Danny Lock for holding the umbrella over me, my caller and most importantly the transmitter!).

Please do come and say hi next time!

I'm not sure I would have stayed out in that weather. You put on a great show and it went down well with the crowd. I wish I had the time to get good enough to display heli's but watching today I know that's never going to happen again. Still, had a great laugh trying to cut streamers and pop ballons in the Caterham fun fly slot. Would have been good to have got DB sound with one of the dropped toilet rolls, will have to practice my aim for next year.
                          Cheers,

I was there on Saturday. Trade was very disappointing, much smaller than in previous years, I'm not
really interested in people selling jewellery and other 'stuff'. It was more like a boot fair.
Flying was ok, but once again only small heli slots.
Don't think I'll be bothering again.

Haha yeah DB Sounds is "interesting", but I honestly don't think it would be the same without him and all of his inaccurate statements, and even verging on racism at times!

Oh and should have said earlier, the lady on the mic for the AHA slots was Julie Fisher (Daves wife), and from what I could hear while flying, she did a great job

Went on Saturday.... lov'd the flying especially the heli's and the Futura jet although not sure many people would understand the F3C display , turbine heli was awsome as was the 3D display ! not much in the way of trade stands ! but the real downer for me and this is my first ever RC event was DB sound !!!! Obviously he had no interested in heli's to the point where he talked about other things at one point while the pilots flying there guts out, has NO knowledge about them , "look at those flip flops " ( tic-toc's) wtf ? in the end our group went home early rather than listen to more prattle from him ! Not sure if i would go there again
