Snap, Sort of. Lol,

Working on a new plane today (donated to me by a club member) the scaplel slipped and went into the inside side of my thumb, creating a nice big flap of skin, sliding around on my thumb. Not a thin sliver of skin either, it went to the bone.

We had a guy chop the top from two fingers 3 weeks ago, Top as below the bottom of the nail! Gave me the chance to look inside before wrapping him up and racing 15 miles to the hospital,

My advice;
Make sure you carry a good first aid kit and make sure you have mates that don't run off or pass out when needed

And no i didn't have mine or any phone on me to take one, sort of rushed out the house bleeding well, so with a 20 min drive to A & E was keen to get there quick

Ouch.. Sorry to here that James. I put my hand into a prop many years back on my left hand little finger, and the scar there has always reminds me every time i see it..

Hope everything heals up quickly for you..and you are up and flying again.

my dad has a funjet and about 8 months ago he put the throttle upto full as usual and lobbed it but wen did, he moved his hand up slightly right into the prop, you could see how the model had been moving as there was 3 slice marks down his finger and at the end his skin was flapping around but it was bad, we took his model off him so he could get medical attention and he dripped on my flying wing, so, even small pushers can do some damage. get well soon james, stick to helis, you can move away from the rotors beore they start spinning, still talkin about slices, i went to the beach last week and whilst in the water, i managed to step on a bloody sharp rock that went into the bottom of my foot, a bit like your injury james, but instead of involving models it was the shitty sea. years ago, my freind got hit in the leg by a appy 50 down at our club so helis are defo dangerous, i would post the vid but its not for the family forum
