  • T rex 550 e

    I've just ordered the motor KDE 1907H/1Y-N42 .
    I want to put it on my T-Rex 550 E 3G.
    I've also buy an ESC " Castle Creations Phoenix Ice HV 160" and a CC BEC Pro 12S.
    With blades Edge 553 mm.
    Is it a good configuration?
    Please, can You send to me the best set up for the ESC (data link file) to program at best the Phoenix Ice 160 HV?
    What's best ratio Main gear/Pinion gear?
    Can the stock pinion fit on the motor KDE?
    Thank You

    Hey.

    I'm running my 550E 3G with the below setup;

    > Stock Align motor
    > 16 tooth pinion supplied
    > Castle Creations ICE100
    > Castle Creations BEC PRO set to 6.8 volts output
    > Align 5200mah 6s 40C LiPo

    The NEU motor is meant to be a very nice motor, a friend was going to go down the route but I seem to remember the motor chaft needing shortening and I think a new pinion sourcing as the motor shaft is a bigger diameter. This meant he changed his mind and just fitted the stock motor.

    The CC 160amp ESC will work well, very much overkill on the 550E as a 100amp unit is more than enough espeically combined with the external BEC which eases the workload on the ESC.

    The Edge flybarless blades are meant to be quite good, I've not tried any myself but have read good reviews. AT 553mm long they might benefit from a lower tooth pinion to keep the duration the same, but you'll have to work that out to get the best result between power and duration.
