***WARNING*** PROUD DAD ALERT!!!
My boy WON the Clubman Cup competition at Park Hall
Wow, what a weekend!!! I can't believe it!!!
A great event, great people, great flying and a GREAT result. Mum & Dad (and Alex) couldn't be happier.
Saturday's rounds were flown with gusty winds blowing into the faces of the pilots (which no one likes) and affected everybodies flying. Alex's sets were flown well but his routine didn't go particularly well due to the the wind. With good scores in the bag and sitting in second place over night I let Alex 'off the leash' on Sunday and let him fly his freestyle like he'd stole it rather than his routine he'd been practicing!! I was soooo impressed how well he was flying under the pressure of competing.
All the pilots stepped up their game during the fly-off but Alex remained as cool as a cucumber and loved the support from the crowd.
Bad luck to Jamie who had to bale out of his blade stop auto and Pedro Pete who's inverted auto unfortunately fell over on landing. (Pete, Did you tell your other half that you got beaten by the 9 year old???)
Well it looks as though I've got no excuse not to get him a 700 now - Anybody??
I'm very proud of my son and pleased that we are part of a sport / addiction that promotes fun, sportsmanship and Pi$$ taking!!!
Anyway, thats enough of me 'bigging up my boy' again. All thats left for me to say is thank you to Paul and the Park Hall members, the judges, helpers, pilots and spectators. And thanks Edders for encouraging him to do his first blade stop auto as part of his victory flight
Regards,
Steve and Alex (aka Diddy Man Bling)
