Where did you get that the max rpm is 21000. The OS 50's power band is at 17500 wth you gearing at this engine rpm you would have a headspeed of 2058. So you can see that in order to get to 1800 the engine would have to be at 15300rpm.

Also, hit the thanks on Steves very useful posts it adds to the rep of forum members who have been extremely helpful. ;-) When I get time I'm going to set up the same way as I like the simplicity

right i have installed governor set all pitch curves throttle full of and everything setup same as steve when governor is 0 red light is on and when above 7 governor goes green so set that to 75 which will be about right.

I dont know if this a problem or not the green light is always on.

Wheteher the stick is 0 or 100% the light on the governor is green or should it go off when i move below 30%

      Thanks

No the light only goes red when you lower the gain to a - number and the gov is disabled. It does not matter where the stick is. All it is saying is the gov is enabled when green and disabled when red.

If you turn the fan very slowly the light will flash off when one of the magnets is over the sensor. If it does it for both magnets you have an issue and will need to turn one of the magnets over.

how does the 0-100% relate to the os hyper 50 rpm/headspeed i know that 6% is where governor is turned on but what about up from that what would 100% mean..

I have seen the manual but it talks about atv setting upto 150%% whereas governor section is just upto 100% just w0ndering

Use the ATV's at 100% don't worry about the 125%. It doesn't really relate to headspeed. You can work it out but you are better just getting someone to tacho it or do it by feel. The OS50's power band is at 17500 rpm. With your main gear and a fully open throttle it would equate to 2058rpm at the head. In order to get to 1800 you can see your going to be around 70 to 80% on your governor setting. Use a straight line throttle curve in normal mode ie 0-100% and adjust your governor (gear) channel to give you the 1800, Simples! Your making it more difficult than it is trying to calculate the setting based on max speed of the engine. For example un governed and running as lean as a lean thing the engine would be screaming it's nuts off with a silly engine speed. Have you got anyone close by that can help you with the initial setup. Most clubs would be only too happy to help out initially.

if it helps on my raptor (8.5:1) 80% = 1950 headspeed. Checked with a tacho. On my K3D (8.7:1) 82% gave me 1960 headspeed go figure? I think there is some veriation in the units so use these as a guide then tacho it.
