    Helicommand adapter

    Good Afternoon,

    Could some kind soul point me in the direction of a USB to serial port adapter that will definitely work with the Helicommand PC software and adapter. I have 4 laptops, one of them is around 10 years old, all the others are modern[ish] running Windows 7, but none of them have a native serial port. From my readings, it seems that some adapters will work and some will not. Only want to buy once . Thanks for reading this plea.

    You need one that uses the FTDI chipset.

    I purchased a serial card for my PC, which is desktop and home-built. I am surprised the 10 yesr old laptop does not have a serial port.

      Get an iogear (GUC232A).

      Think they are about £20 but work like a charm.

        There are load for about £4.00 but the feedback varies a lot.
        That might be because some folk can't find drivers on the net but who knows.
        This one has decent feedback at least and is £7.49 posted.
