  • 3D?!?!?!

Just been looking round on the net and came across this...
http://www.3dformat.co.uk/set-manoeuvres/ which many of you may have seen before...

I was actually surprised how many moves there are that listed!

So how and where do my fellow addicts start to learn such brain frying moves?

Personally, I'm just about doing some of the K2 moves now. It's a case of start at the beggining, i.e. a tic-toc is a K1 move, which can be started/learnt reasonably easily. You can the move that on to Aileron tic-tocs, piro tic-tocs, backwards tic-tocing figure 8 etc etc. It's all about stick time

Hi Ed, The 3D format has been designed to be an inclusive and not Exclusive format.

i.e. The 3D format encompasses ALL levels of piloting ability unlike other formats allowing Pilots to learn from the bottom up.

Grass-Roots level is fairly basic allowing less capable and un-experienced pilots to enjoy a Competition format suitable to there needs.

Inters and Champs use a more technical set of moves which they have to incorporate into a freestyle routine.

You'll be lucky to find a breakdown of the move, stick input etc. Theres some really good videos on helituning, but I find it hard to watch stick input and what the heli is doing at the same time. Talking to other pilots and getting them to talk you through it helps and standing on the flightline watching others fly can help.

Hi Eddie If you look at the 3D Scotland website there are some diagrams explaining some of the Grass-Roots.
