I fly mode 2, its bec thats how i was trained to fly, but if someone new who never held a TX had to learn, either way would be easy as they would learn that way,

A mate i fly with flys mode 1 and its been hard for him as he wants to learn how to do the chaos but almost every book or even asking someone how they can, can only tell him or show him in mode 2,

Hi Yep Gotta agree with ya! But with heli's some manouvers require pitch and aileron say in level flight you want to roll just over 1/4 wap then flick back and forth! dont know what its called you see what i meen fast responce on sam stxix diagonally... Cant seem to get it. At least on GIRLY mode you are using both stix so more acurate ? does that make sense lol

Mode 2 is definitely easier to learn 3d with, as when you get into some of the cyclic stirring pirrouetting moves it is much easier having both cyclics on the one stick than it would be to have them on different ones.

Thats not to say that mode 1 pilots cant do that sort of thing, it just takes very careful timing to get it right and make it look smooth.

            Cheers,
            Pete.

tend to agree that mode 2 is easier for chaos and piro moves as you just stir one stick. Also you want the other stick to have pretty fine control on collective, so wapping the aileron side to side on the left stick ain't gonna help with that.

Mode 2 - for the reasons Ash mentioned.
                Cheers,

Hi Kevin what do you call to late? flew fixed wing for about 30 years! on and off and at one stage was flying mode one in london one weekend and then mode 2 in kent the following weekend and that was each and every weekend (fixed wing) had a go on mates sim with his tx on mode 2 lasted 5 mins before it hit the deck. He lasted 10 seconds on mine with my tx lol. Still fly fixed wing from time to time on mode 2 just to keep my hand in.

Hi Chris oh well i must be just a real bad flier lol... No seriously pick up a mode one tx and try to simulate the 3 d you do with that? I have a mode 2 fixed wind tx allthough i wish it was a heli set. I have a feeling that mode two is more heli friendly. "just my opinion" I can think of at least one manouver that would be better with aileron and throttle/pitch one different stick!

Mode 2 here... for me it seems that its best to have the movement of the swashplate all on one stick. Not that im a 3D'er but i would imagine it would be much easier having it that way also.

I think whatever you are used to is fine,i suppose 3d is easier with Mode 2 but Mode 1 fliers seem to do just as well
