  • Trex 500 batteries.

    Hi Guys,

Looking for a bit of info...Im currently in the market for buying some new batteries for my 500.

I am mildly sports flying with 3d hopefully just round the corner

So i am looking to see what batteries and size people are using and from where?

Not looking to spend an arm and a leg...

I am looking at the turnigy 22.2v 2650 mah from hobbyking.

ALSO WHAT PINION ARE YOU USING???

    Any thoughts are welcome.

Take a look at Heliguy's RapidCharge batteries. I've been using these for a while now and probably have had approx 70 cycles through them and they are holding up well.

I'm no 3Der but I like todo a good bit of loops, rolls and flips.

Value for money it's turnigys all the way, they are just top quality for the price, I have the 2650 / 3000 and they are great.

Some recent threads have highlighted that even some of the top quality batts have been outdone by the turnigys by in flight power, cycles.

Longmax batts seem to have good reviews and I know a few people who have them and seem very good for the money.

You can never have to many batts

I have some 2650 turnigys and they were working with no issues on the 500 and also doubled up in the 6HV. The Loong Max 3000 work just as well and come down a little cooler than the Turnigys I have but that could be due to the fact that I flew both at the same flight times so the 3000 are using less % wise.

I would happily use either of these all day long.

Im using Turnigy 2650 40-50c with a 13th on the new 500M motor.. got plenty off power for my capablity. Read its better using the 2650 instead off the 3000's as they 3000's are very heavy

Not very heavy but heavier and it does affect the balance of the machine but not by much but it is better balanced with the 2650's agreed
