On Thursday I had to fly to Hamburg to do some work at the syncrothron. I was flying Easyjet out of Gatwick and theirs is basically the last flight out of Hamburg on Friday night. I knew I would be late back, so charged the Aurora's rx lipo on Wednesday. I'm having a few issues with the gyro and fully intended to take advantage of the good weather to try and sort them out.

Anyhow, I got to the airport in good time and checked my tools in. 10 minutes later my flight's been cancelled.

So, back to the Easyjet desk to be told that I will only be able to fly back on Sunday. I managed to get a seat on BMI to Heathrow leaving at 7:30 this morning.

In the meantime I am trying to track down my tools. An hour later and it's disappeared, so I put a claim in.
Flight to Heathrow went fine, bus to Gatwick and an extra £7 on my prepaid parking. I finally got home around 11, but had to do a few things in town, so planned to go the field after lunch.

Get to the field and the local rc car club, who have a track behind the flightline, are having a race meeting. No flying and no notification on our club's website. The day's a disaster.

On the up side, I got a call from Gatwick to say my tools have been found and i should get them next week.

I would say getting your tools back will save quite a headache sorting out replacements & claims. There is always another day after all just enjoy it!

I had a few days like that. Sometimes it never plans out how it seems to for other people.

I'm in Maidstone and fly with the local club. We have three fields and one is used almost exclusively by the heli guys. By the time I'd got there and discovered the car club in situ, I wasn't really in the mood to trapse across the countryside to get to the other fields.

There is no flying on Sundays except at one field, but the pilots there are not keen on heli's.
