Maybe a little late now but thought it might be good for future reference.

The magnets can be removed from the recess in the fan or clutch bell or any other housing they have been bonded into by using a small center punch on the magnet, the force of the center punch will shatter the magnet and the remains can be picked out with small tools. The same result can be done with a nail and a hammer but the center punch is a much easier/quicker method.

An El'Cheapo center punch can be had on the cheap tool stands at various shows for a couple of quid and worthwhile to have in the box.

On the loctite note, depends on the fan hub fixing method. on the clamp style method a drop of blue on the crankshaft between it and the nut is usually enough.
      Thanks!
