Just wanted to say I've done my first 55 bearing change.. Never had a engine previously and was quite surprised how easily it was done.. the only probelm I came across was I tinkered with the piston ring and it made it harder to get the liner back in! Do want to ask though.. when seating the rear bearing.. how do you peeps make sure its seated properly? As I had to tap it in with a hammer!

Get it hot enough it drops straight in,of course after putting rear on crank and in the freezer while the engine heats up.
Ref the ring, make sure the gap is located on the small bit thats rasied in the slot,if you have had to force it then it may not be lined up and therefore damagedT- rex 600n V-bar

Oh.. Yep.. I had the other parts in the freezer whilst the block was in the oven.. but I didnt wait for the bearing to drop out in the oven. I took it out early and gave it a tap on the chopping board and the bearing fell out. I think I'll leave it in longer next time then!!Eddie
